List of 6 Indonesian Badminton Representatives at the 2024 Olympics

A total of six Indonesian badminton representatives have confirmed their qualification for the 2024 Olympics .

This was discovered after the round of 16 of the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) 2024 took place at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, Zhejiang, China, Thursday (11/4). BAC 2024 is the final tournament in the road to Paris series.

Indonesian mixed doubles, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari are the last Indonesian badminton representatives to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

Rinov/Pitha qualified after Indonesia’s other mixed doubles, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja stopped in the round of 16 at BAC 2024. Dejan/Gloria lost to the South Korean doubles who were seeded seventh in the tournament, Kim Won Ho/Jeong Na Eun 18-21 , 16-21.

Dejan/Gloria’s defeat ensured that Rinov/Pitha were ranked in the top 16 in the race for the Olympics.

“Indonesia has added representatives to the 2024 Paris Olympics through the mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari,” wrote PBSI in a post on social media.

This result made Rinov/Pitha follow in the footsteps of the five Indonesian representatives who had already qualified. The five representatives of the Red and White Team are Jonatan Christie, Anthony Ginting, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Indonesia has the right to send two representatives to the 2024 Olympics in the men’s singles event because both of them are in the top 16 zone. Ginting is currently in sixth position and Jonatan is perched in fourth position.

Similar success was achieved by Gregoria who was in seventh place in the qualifications, Fajar/Rian was also in seventh place, and Apri/Fadia were also in seventh place in the women’s doubles qualifications who managed to secure tickets to the 2024 Olympics.
