In a series of matches at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, Thursday (11/4/2024), there were four Indonesian representatives who managed to qualify from the round of 16.
The four representatives consist of two representatives in the men’s singles sector, and one representative each in the women’s singles and men’s doubles.
In the men’s singles, Jonatan Christie was the first to confirm his ticket to the BAC 2024 quarterfinals after getting past Lee Cheuk Yiu in two straight games, 21-14 and 21-16.
Apart from Jojo, there is also Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Ginting successfully won the 2024 Asian Badminton Championship quarter-final ticket after beating Somi Romdhani 21-9, 21-10.
In the women’s singles sector, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung also safely advanced to the quarter-finals after beating the unseeded player from Taiwan, Pai Yu Po, 21-19, 21-16.
Another Indonesian representative in the BAC 2024 quarter-finals was the men’s doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto who beat Lu Ching Yao/Yang Po Han 21-17, 21-16.
The four Red and White representatives will now play matches in the last 8 of the 2024 Asian Badminton Championship which will be played on Friday (12/4).
