There are a number of considerations that made PBSI choose the city of Chambly, 22 km northwest of the city of Paris, France as a training center for Indonesian representatives who will qualify for the biggest quadrennial sports event in the summer.
Starting from the facilities at the Chambly Maville Sports Hall which are like a mini version of the Cipaytung National Training Center to the calm and comfortable atmosphere in the city.
The plan is that the training camp will start being held in July 2024.
Both parties from PBSI and the Chambly City Government held a meeting on Saturday (2/3/2024) afternoon local time.
From PBSI there were representatives of a number of officials, namely Armand Darmadji (Ad Hoc Team Manager), Ricky Soebagdja (Head of Binpres), Bambang Roedyanto (Head of Foreign Affairs).
Meanwhile, from the Chambly city government there was Mayor David Lazarus who was accompanied by deputy mayor Marie France Serra, as well as the President of the Chambly Badminton Club , Patrice Lannoy.
“We are grateful for the welcome and warmth of the city of Chambly in welcoming us, the Indonesian badminton team. Finally we decided to make the city of Chambly a training camp ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics ,” said Armand, quoted by BolaSport.com from a PBSI press release.
“There were several considerations, first from the start we saw that this place was quite good, the facilities were adequate. The format of the field was similar to a smaller version of the Cipayung National Training Center.”
