Indonesian men’s doubles badminton playerFajar Alfian, will start the month of Ramadan by competing in the 2024 All England tournament. Fajar admits that he is sad because he is starting the fasting month away from his family, but ensures that he remains ready to fight for Indonesia.

As is known, Fajar Alfian will team up with Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the 2024 All England men’s doubles. The tournament will take place at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England on 12–17 March 2024.

The tournament coincides with the beginning of the month of Ramadan in Indonesia, which falls on March 12 2024. That way, Fajar and Rian have to fast while defending Indonesia on the international stage.

Fajar said he was used to situations like this. Even though he is sad, the 29 year old badminton player emphasized that he must continue to give his best to make the Red and White proud.

“It is a risk for us as athletes, when Ramadan is away from home and family,” said Fajar, quoted from the official PBSI release, Tuesday (12/3/2024).

“Even though it is sad, it must be carried out, especially this task is to make Indonesia proud,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Fajar/Rian will face Taiwan’s representatives, Fang-Chih Lee/Fang-Jen Lee in the round of 32 of All England 2024. The match will take place at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England on Wednesday 13 March 2024.Okewla

Fajar said he was not burdened by the title of defending champion of the tournament. He emphasized that he was ready to give his best to win the match and defend the title of the oldest badminton tournament in the world.

“There is no burden that is too high (to become defending champion), we want to focus on going all out in every match,” said Fajar.
