“Thank God for these 33 years. Today, at the age of 33, I decided to quit my professional badminton career,” said Marcus on his Instagram account.

“I can’t believe it’s been 25 years of non-stop training and competing on the field. I give thanks to the Lord Jesus who has worked in my life, without Him I might not be where I am today,” he continued.

Last time, Marcus had a brilliant world career in the world of badminton with Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. Marcus achieved a number of achievements with Kevin, one of which was being ranked number one in the world for five years.

“I close my career in the world of badminton with a satisfied and grateful heart,” said Marcus.

Before retiring, Marcus had a duet with Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah in 2023. They participated in a number of tournaments, but failed to achieve maximum results.
