Hybrid – The Indonesian men’s doubles badminton pair Sabar Karyaman / Mohammad Reza Pahlevi ( Sabar / Reza ) are no longer residents of the national training camp or PBSI National Training Center. However, they dare to set high targets as professional players.

Sabar / Reza targets reaching 20th place in the world this year. For this reason, in the near future they will go to Europe to take part in a series of tournaments including the Orleans Masters, Swiss Masters and Spain Masters.

“For this year’s (calendar) we will take part in 15 tournaments. For this year we (target) reach 20th place in the world,” said Reza at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday.

Sabar/Reza has now officially joined Jebreeet Media’s talent management through the PB Ina (Indonesian Badminton Pandit) program. The joining of Sabar/Reza to management cannot be separated from the world number 45 pair leaving national training (National Training).

“I see very high commitment, discipline and ethos from Sabar and Reza. Both of them even seem very ambitious to reach 10th place in the world,” said CEO of Jebreeet Media, Valentino Simanjuntak, Friday.

Valentino Simanjuntak hopes that in the future there will be many parties who will be moved to provide support to potential athletes like Sabar/Reza.

“Existence outside the national training means that they need support from outside. We are moved to be able to make a contribution to them,” said Valentino Simanjuntak.

Sabar said that with the training program and preparations carried out he could show maximum performance during the tour in Europe.

“We have been training intensely for a month now with various programs that coach Andre gave us despite all the limitations we have, but we are making the most of it by giving the best performance in Europe. Hopefully the results can make not only us both proud, but also the family and management also those who will now work together,” said Sabar.

“There must be ambition, because we also have to be responsible for the support from sponsors who give us. I also always say to myself, especially that I have to be passionate about winning, to give my best, I must always maintain it, whether I want to train or not. in tournaments. So his ambition will definitely never be extinguished,” he added.

Sabar / Reza maintains two-way communication through ‘lunch politics’. During lunch they will communicate with Reza and the coach regarding the training menu, pre-match analysis and match evaluation.

By joining talent management, Reza said he felt more helped and effective because up to now, to take part in tournaments, he had to take care of his own things related to a number of accommodations and finding practice opponents.

“Since yesterday, we have been taking care of it ourselves, starting from hotels and planes. So now with the help of management we can be more effective. It’s the same for us when we practice, the opponents are difficult, maybe Jebreeet Media can help us find better sparring,” said Reza.

Sabar / Reza is reluctant to be burdened with the status of Indonesia’s only representative in the men’s doubles at the 2024 Orleans Masters championship. They will start their steps at the European Championship by taking part in the 2024 Orleans Masters which will take place from 12 to 17 March.

“In Orleans later, because the men’s doubles national team is not playing, we don’t want to be burdened by that. So, there is no burden at all on us, we just want to (perform) our maximum in that match,” said Reza.
